The Month of Love
When you think of Valentine's Day what comes to mind? Chocolate, dates, lace, sweet cards, red lipst, pink nails, etc. Of all the endless possibilites, love & beauty are at the forefront. I believe the world pressures us to be as beautiful as possible to earn as much love as possible. I'm going to challenge that way of thinking because that is not God's true design. That's not how He works. The Truth says in Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV), "I have loved you with an everlasting love." Chew on this-Were we earning God's love before we were created? No! Do we need to earn love now? No! Because of that everlasting love, there's nothing we can do to get more of God's love or lose His love. "Nothing can ever separate us from God's love" Romans 8: 38 NLT. Truly, if we understood God's complete love for us we wouldn't need to seek it from the world. Yes, we need to love & be loved. So, instead of trying to be beautiful to earn love, let's live beautifully because we are loved!
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow- not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below- indeed, nothig in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 38-39 NLT
