Valentine's Day Thoughts & Ideas

Today is another snow day for us! That said, immediately after breakfast and before getting dressed, we made our super-cute Valentine’s Day boxes. Cardboard boxes, pink tissue paper, cut-out hearts, glue, staples, paint, and the whole shebang! As we were crafting Gideon exclaimed, “Mom! You should make a box so Daddy can give you lots of chocolate!” His comment was genius, but I did panic a bit realizing that I have not thought about Valentine’s for my husband and I’m glad I have a snow day and a week to figure this out!

How will you celebrate Valentine’s this year? A friend of mine hides notes for her husband each day during the month of February and he pieces them together to make a grand-finale puzzle. Love that idea! I’ll probably wear jammies that I think my husband would appreciate and write him a letter affirming him. But, maybe you don’t have a Valentine this year for various reasons and you dread this upcoming holiday. Maybe you have a Valentine but your hearts are broken because your relationship is full of cracks and brokenness. Don’t lose hope! There are endless opportunities and ways to love those in our lives. And if it’s not a special Valentine, then choose your friends, your kids, your neighbors—especially those who feel un-loveable- and bless them for Valentine’s Day!

We have a choice to love.

“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves” Romans 12:9-10

-XOXO

And, here are some fun Valentine’s Day finds…
